There are so many things I’m always buying and trying that I love to share but I don’t necessarily want to put them in an individual post ya know? These are my top 5 things I’m OBSESSED with right now.
At the end of the post, I’ll also be picking a random subscriber to receive 4 items (can’t actually send the podcast) from this post!
1. The Goop Podcast
I listen to this multiple times a day almost daily. YES it’s that serious for me. Gwyneth Paltrow and her chief content officer Elise Loehnen interview a wide range of people discussing all types of topics such as detoxing, supplements, postpartum depression, healing from past trauma, balancing hormones and just shit we never thought we need to know. I am so addicted to these interviews and while the ads and sponsorship commercial breaks MAYYYYY be a little (a lot) corny and forced (I fast forward through them), I leave with so much helpful and insightful information that I never knew I needed. I caught on kind of late and started from the beginning (which I might add, is the Oprah episode). They’re anywhere from an hour to about 30 minutes and are great to listen to while commuting to work, cleaning the house or just curled on the couch while drinking wine.
2. Cooking in Season by Brigit Binns
I’m a sucker for aesthetically pleasing books, but recently, I’ve been picking up books that pique my current interests. I love cooking and have taken a recent interest in cooking meals using fresh and in-season produce. I saw this while browsing through Williams Sonoma and had to have it. This book has a plethora of recipes for all 4 seasons using in-season vegetables, herbs, fruits and such. Salads, soups, watermelon popsicles (mmmmm 😋) and plenty of other interesting super colorful meals.
3. Lemon + Grapefruit Candle
A friend actually brought this candle to my attention while we were aimlessly browsing the Target aisles (dangerous, I know). The combination doesn’t sound like my speed to be honest, but when I got a whiff, I fell in love. A fresh and clean scent but also oddly very warm and comforting. Not to mention the super chic and minimal packaging! I currently have a few around the house with the room spray as well. Safe to say, this candle will remain in heavy rotation around here for the duration of the season.
4. Rishi Matcha Ginger Buzz Green Tea
I’ve been incorporating matcha tea into my mornings as a daily habit instead of my normal green tea. Matcha is a stronger type of green tea that comes with 10x the antioxidants and greater brain and heart health benefits. Plus I heard it keeps you looking younger so I’m all in PERIOD. The caffeine dose is pretty high so 1 cup in the mornings pretty much does it for me. The ginger adds a little zinger to the otherwise usually bitter taste of the green tea and this gives my morning a great start without me feeling super jittery. In addition to the green tea, it’s got things like ginger root, rosemary, yuzu peel and grapefruit oil.
5. Nubian Heritage Shea Butter in Patchouli + Buriti
I’m pretty sure we’ve all seen this brand in Sprouts or Whole Foods and while I use the liquid black soap sometimes, I otherwise normally ignore the other scents. I was randomly curious about this body butter and was very much surprised by how much I liked the scent. Not gon lie, I’ve always associated patchouli with smelling a little…..earthy (aka musty) 🙂 so to discover how sweet and and intoxicating this aroma was truly caught me off guard. It’s very strong and a little goes a long way, so I tend to scoop out a bit and mix with a carrier oil to dilute it down a bit. I also love that it’s made with rosehip seed oil and cupuacu butter.
